What characteristics make a successful SOL distributor?

We’re looking for distributors and installers to join our network. People who have the skills and abilities to:

  • Manage the administrative and logistical aspects of managing customer quotes, council approvals, orders and delivery.
  • Engage with the customer, utilising our software to collaborate with them and design a structure they love – ultimately winning the customers trust and business.
  • Provide a quality installation with attention to detail, as well as on-site customer service skills. Perhaps you are a builder, roofer or are already installing Home Improvements structures? Registered builders and installation crew members are required.

What training and support do new SOL distributors receive?

Training is available to learn about all aspects of the design and quoting software in our in-house software training room.

We’ll guide you through the design, quoting, engineering, plans, ordering and other aspects of our advanced software, as well as support you with general business guidance including sales and marketing support.

We also showcase how to build SOL Home Improvements structures at our industry leading training facility. Installers can learn best-practice techniques and get hands-on experience building real structures under the guidance of our Technical Manager.

Who manufactures the product?

The majority of our components are supplied by Stramit Building Products®, manufactured by various product suppliers.

SOL Home Improvements distributors simply order the components for each job automatically from Stramit via the ImproveIT software.

Does SOL undercut distributors by selling buildings direct to customers?

Absolutely not. It’s as simple as that.

We support our distributors by generating leads and working with our channel to win business.

Do I get an exclusive territory?

This option is available with various packages that can be customised according to the area and the distributors own business plan.

Does SOL Home Improvements use a franchise or distributor model?

We offer distributorships – meaning you get the advantage of our software, business support, product designs and sales tools.

You may also leverage our brand with approval, though you are not required to follow a specific promotional plan – SOL Home Improvements effectively becomes a product on your shelf.

You operate as an independent business and your financial and business affairs remain your own responsibility.

Do I need a display site?

Display sites are a great way to showcase our products and your building capabilities.

This option may be required if you purchase an exclusive sales territory, and depending on the package purchased.

What promotional tools are available?

We generate leads for our business via a range of marketing activities, which may include online advertising, TV advertising, print advertising and events.

An in house graphic design service and marketing advice is available to support you in utilising a range of marketing collateral in your own area, in order to support you with local marketing assistance. This could take the form of catalogues or social media support.

Point of sale materials are available on start-up and for additional ongoing purchases.
